ProShip multi-carrier shipping software and the CVP Automated Packaging Solution recognized for creating greater efficiencies and cost savings in the supply chain
Supply & Demand Chain Executive (SDCE), the executive's user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, has selected ProShip, Inc., a leader in logistics software and supply chain solutions, as a recipient of the SDCE 100 Award for 2018.
The SDCE 100 is an annual list of 100 innovative supply chain projects that show how supply chain solution and service providers help their customers achieve supply chain excellence and prepare their supply chains for success. The SDCE 100 list also serves as a map for executives who are looking for new opportunities to drive improvement in their own operations.
ProShip was awarded the 2018 SDCE 100 Award for its two-tiered project with a leading catalog/e-commerce distributor. The distributor was already using ProShip® Multi-Carrier Shipping Software to increase order fulfillment and rate shop multiple shipping carriers in order to reduce shipping costs and provide customers full track-and-trace access. This solution achieved transportation and labor savings in the shipping department, however, the distributor also wanted more efficiencies in the warehouse. The company turned to ProShip’s CVP Automated Packaging Solution, an in-line parcel boxer that optimizes all steps of package fulfillment by creating custom fit-to-size boxes for variable-dimension single or multi-item orders. The CVP pairs with ProShip Software to then automatically weigh and identify the best shipping method and print a carrier-compliant shipping label for every order. With these combined solutions, the catalog/e-commerce distributor met its goals of further decreasing labor and shipping costs while incorporating more automation in its warehouse.
“First and foremost, we want to congratulate the winners of this year’s Top 100 for their successful and innovative projects, which serve as models to companies of all sizes for what is achievable in their supply chains,” said John Yuva, editor for Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “Regardless of company size, these projects are best-in-class examples of the types of efficiencies and bottom-line results that supply chain executives should be striving toward in their own operations. Our 2018 winners provide a roadmap for how to get there.”
“We are honored to be recognized as one of the 2018 Supply & Demand Chain Executive Top 100 Award winners for the efficiencies and cost-saving abilities of our combined solutions,” said Matt Mullen, senior vice president and managing director of ProShip, Inc. “By incorporating both our ProShip Software and CVP Automated Packaging Solution, our customer was able to obtain record cost savings in labor and shipping, while creating significant efficiencies across the entire supply chain. With more businesses looking beyond the box, combining software and automated packaging solutions are the keys to success.”
