The National Retail Federation said it best – “what is hot in retailing, is what is different.” Today’s retailers are consistently looking for new ways to break out of the pack and differentiate themselves in today’s competitive retail marketplace. We’ve seen it in innovative merchandising, intuitive in-store technologies and even shipping (you know that there is a shipping war, right?).
So what isn’t hot? The collapse of brick-and-mortar retailing and old, traditional business models. Instead, aggressive mergers and acquisitions, niche marketing, innovative customer experience concepts and everything e-commerce is sizzling.
